Deacon Chris Sandner, MA

A native of the Bay Area, Deacon Chris Sandner serves as RCIA director and as a crucial resource for student activities and counseling. Educated at Santa Clara University, he is also active in the administration of the Santa Barbara Pastoral Region, being the pastoral secretary to Bishop Robert Barron, Regional Bishop for Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties and founder of Word on Fire ministry. In his former days, he was an air traffic controller for the USAF as well as for civilian aviation, and now later in life, he has become an expert in business formation and consulting. Deacon Sandner also has an MA in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He and his wife Diane live in Montecito, and his favorite food is squid-ink calamari.
